Nely y Pietro share apartment Overview

First Impressions

When I first pulled up to Nely y Pietro share apartment in Bávaro, I’ll be honest — it’s not what you’d expect from your typical hotel experience. This three-star property sits quietly on Calle Los Tulipanes in the Edificio Beladero, and honestly, that’s part of its charm. You’re getting something more personal here, more like staying with friends who happen to live in one of Punta Cana‘s most sought-after areas. The building itself has that relaxed Caribbean vibe without any pretense, and I immediately felt like I could actually unwind here.

The Space and Setup

The shared apartment concept works surprisingly well — Nely and Pietro have figured out how to give guests privacy while maintaining that welcoming, homey atmosphere. Your room feels like a proper retreat, not some cramped hotel box, and there’s access to common areas that actually feel lived-in rather than sterile. What really caught my attention was how thoughtfully everything’s arranged; you get the independence of having your own space but can chat with your hosts if you want local tips or just feel like being social.

Location and Getting Around

Bávaro is honestly one of those places where location makes or breaks your stay, and this spot delivers. You’re close enough to the main tourist areas that nothing feels like a trek, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with constant crowds and noise. The fact that there’s free private parking on-site is actually a bigger deal than you might think — if you’re planning to rent a car and explore beyond the resort strips, you’ll appreciate not having to hunt for a spot every time you come back. I mean, it’s one of those small things that just makes everything easier.

Breakfast and Daily Rhythms

The breakfast situation here is pretty great — you get both Italian and American options, which gives you some variety depending on your mood. Some mornings I wanted something familiar and hearty, other days I was curious about Nely and Pietro’s Italian touches. It’s served in a way that feels natural, not like you’re queuing up at a hotel buffet, and honestly, starting your day with actual conversation instead of rushing through a crowded dining room sets a completely different tone for your vacation.

Why Guests Love It

That 9.2 rating isn’t just numbers — couples especially seem to connect with this place, and I can see why. There’s something about the setup that encourages you to slow down and actually enjoy each other’s company instead of constantly planning the next activity. You’re not dealing with resort schedules or fighting for pool chairs; you can just… be. The hosts genuinely care about making sure you have what you need, but they’re not hovering or making you feel like you’re being managed. It’s that sweet spot where you get personal attention without feeling like you’re imposing on anyone’s space.

Exploring Punta Cana layers lagoon kayaking, Dominican cooking classes, and starry nights along the malecón.

Amazing stay here. Big and spacious room and bathroom, always clean. The breakfast
made by Nely is fresh, generous and delicious, Nely was so kind, seems like she loves
to host and she loves her island. She was very informative, she told me interesting details about
the city and helped me a lot! I'm a solo female traveler and I felt safed and welcomed.
You have the main bus termial as well as groceries and restaurants just a few minutes walking.
The house is super safe and quiet, I only heard birds! I had privacy and silence everytime.
The house also has a traditional lovely design so you can feel traditional enviroment
around you which makes the stay really unique.

We began our first ever visit to the Dominican Republic with a 5-night stay at Nely and Pietro's place. Nely picked us up at Punta Cana airport, and gave us an informative drive back to their home. During our stay, they helped us to adapt to life in the Republic, and to make decisions about our travel plans for the following 3 weeks. With our own bedroom and bathroom, we had plenty of privacy, but were able to freely use the shared kitchen to prepare other meals. And, of course, having breakfast ready for us each morning was a treat (several options available). The location is very good in a typical residential area, with the beach about 40 minutes walk away, and the Bavaro bus station (for Santo Domingo, Higuey, etc) just 15 minutes walk.
Nely and Pietro are welcoming and friendly hosts who we found to be very helpful, despite our very weak Spanish and Italian

Best place to be if you want to have a local experience.
Nelly is one of the nicest hostess I have encountered in my travels.
Breakfast was great, and she will adapt to your schedule. Also she gave me great tips to be able to travel around the place.

    I would recommend to everyone.

I felt very welcome in Nely's house. She is a great woman and quite helpful and kind. I found all facilities close to the main avenue. Staying in her house is a good budget if you looking for a place comfy and want to make an economic travel

  • Žiga from Slovenia (10/10)

Staying in the apartment was very good! Nely and Pietro were very friend and helpful with everything. The location is just a few meters away from Avenia Espana so everything is right across the corner. It is really close to the bus station which drives to beach and to San Jusn shopping center

  • Pyotr from United Kingdom (8/10)

Nely and Pietro make the stay very authentic; with the breakfast generous choices but also freshly made juice including papaya, melon, orange, pineapple!
There are two amazing balconies which you can chill on with lovely and abundance of seating – a great place to do some language learning, reading or emails.
An easily accessible water fountain and the pool was very nice, although it was dirty twice during our 10-day stay. We also had our bedroom changed during the stay.

  • Rick from United States (10/10)

owners were very nice to me and treated me very well.

  • Ihor from Ukraine (8/10)

Good apartment for 1-2 days for rest after the flight. Thank you Nelly for waiting for us at the airport for so long, until we go through all the procedures, and after the stay took us to the bus station.

The room was nice with a comfortable bed. There was a refrigerator, fan and air conditioning (extra charge). You could use the stove to make coffee.

Good value for money. In addition, Nelly cooks delicious breakfasts.
